Juglans cinerea x Juglans ailantifolia
This is a cross between a Butternut and a Heartnut. These seedlings exhibit the strongest growth we have ever seen; probably a result of hybrid vigor. These hybrids have the intense hardiness of the Butternut and the precocity (nuts in clusters of 10-15!) of the Heartnut. The flavor is exactly like that of a Butternut.
