Basket Willow - Yellow Stemmed (Salix spp.)
Salix viminalis. The basket willow is a vigorous, upright-growing tall bush, producing 5-7 unbranched stems per season. These stems can be woven into baskets. Plants should be cut to the ground every 2-3 years and mulched heavily. The silvery catkins are small but attractive. Does well in wet soils and makes nice hedges.
