Also known as spicebush or "clove currant." This plant is often referred to as "the North Country's answer to Forsythia." Crandall is a selection of ornamental black currant, an attractive 4 foot bush that can produce an abundant crop of edible fruit in its second season. Berries are large and make a great pie! Spicy-scented flowers bloom in early Spring, giving a burst of yellow to the landscape. Plant 3-4 feet apart.
