The ‘Princeton’ variety of American Elm was originally selected for its high ornamental quality in 1922; about a decade prior to the Dutch Elm Disease invasion of North America. It proved to be exceptionally resistant to the fungal disease and has since been the primary variety used to work around Dutch Elm Disease. Reaches heights of 70-80 feet with a beautiful wine-glass silhouette.
