A rare and beautiful russet apple from the early 19th century. Introduced by John Winn of Sweden, Maine. Medium to large fruit is round and slightly flattened. Flesh is cream-colored, fine-grained, and moderately juicy with a sweet, nutty flavor. Keeps well in storage, maintaining quality until May. Excellent for fresh eating, pies, dried apples, and cider.
