2-4 foot trees
Bill MacKentley is still growing lots of cold-hardy plants at his home across town from the new nursery location. He grew enough for the nursery to list several new trees this year, and this is one of them!
Catalpa speciosa, commonly known as the Northern Catalpa, is a hardy tree loved for its ornamental and shade-providing qualities. With large, heart-shaped leaves and showy panicles of white flowers, these will top out around 50-70 feet. It thrives in moist but well-drained soils and is often used for urban landscaping, providing both aesthetic appeal and habitat for wildlife.
